This podcast acknowledges the enduring and traditional custodians of Australia. We honour Elders past present and emerging, and recognise their continued connections to land, water and community. We are truly privileged to gather on country and share culture, both now and with future generations.

Fingers tracing bone and grit
Glass-like skin bares truth to form
Soft gives way to twisting spring
Time's departed matter's torn

This is one of my earliest memories, I think I was five or maybe six. It didn't make sense to me then and if I'm being totally honest, It terrified me. But it left this door open in my mind and it forces me to question everything.

I have this feeling we're missing the bigger picture, because the one we have right now really has no place for this memory of mine.

Early last year on a clinical placement, I came across this social theory being used to inform Best Practice. It asks us to reflect on what went well, then identify areas for improvement and to use these reflections to inform our future actions.

In short, it's a reflexive perspective. It's one that see's and changes because it sees.

This podcast is about all of the perspectives I've encountered, some of them old and some now, that allow us to reflect so we can leave behind the things that no longer serve us.

In my mind, a realm of infinite potential might just be possible, but if there's one thing I know, it's that there's always room for hope.

My name is Kaiyura Albery, and this is Reflexive Perspectives.
